Prodiamine pre-emergent in water dispersible granule formulation. This is a 5oz bottle made specifically for DIYers who want small quantities of this professionally formulated pre emergent to be mixed in water and sprayed out as a liquid.
Yard Mastery is proud to bring this to market specifically in a smaller bottle for DIYers. #DIYfirst

Prodiamine is a pre-emergent used in spring and fall to stop problem grasses and weeds in lawns. It is best known as a crabgrass and poa annua pre emergent but is also stops other listed weeds including:

Barnyardgrass, Carpetweed-04, Chickweed (common), Chickweed (mousear), Crabgrass (large and smooth), Crowfootgrass, Cup grass (woolly), Foxtails (annual), Goosegrass, Henbit, Itchgrass, Johnsongrass (seedling), Junglerice, Knotweed, Kochia, Lambsquarters (common), Lovegrass, Panicum (browntop, fall and Texas), Pigweed, Purslane (common), Pusley (Florida), Rescuegrass, Shepherdspurse, Signalgrass Broadleaf, Speedwell (Persian), Sprangletop, Spurge (prostate), Witchgrass, Woodsorrel (yellow, from seed)

Since this is a professional formulation, there are several ways to parse the usage and rates. Our recommendation is to apply two applications in spring for crabgrass, known as “split applications” and each of those should be .183oz/1,000 sq ft (5.2g).

We recommend weighing product on a scale to be accurate and grams will be the easiest.

Mix 5.2 grams of prodiamine 65 WDG in 1 gallon of water and this spray mix can cover 1,000 sq ft.

For crabgrass apply in early spring as soil temps approach 50-55F

Apply a second application 35-45 days later as soil temps cross 65F

In fall, apply as soil temps fall to 70F coming out of summer. This is to prevent poa annua (annual bluegrass), henbit and chickweed.

Have a large lawn? Consider purchasing the 5lb bottle of prodiamine and save.

Do not exceed calendar year maximum for your grass type.

Yearly maximum by grass type:

Kentucky Bluegrass
Ryegrass

.55oz or 15.6 g per calendar year

If you follow my reco's we break the apps into .183oz/1000 and this gives us 60 days of protection each app.

.183oz/1000 Early Spring

.183oz/1000 Mid Spring

.183oz/1000 Early Fall (if not seeding)

Total .55 oz yearly

This is a 5oz container so if you go by this strategy, it's enough for one full season for a 9,090 sq ft lawn.

Fine Fescue

.42 oz or 11.9 g per calendar year

Bermudagrass

Bahiagrass

Centipedegrass

St Augustinegrass

Tall Fescue

Zoysia

The label allows for more usage on these grass types. Calendar year limit is .83 oz/1000 yearly or 23.5 g/1000 yearly

If you follow my reco's we break the apps down a little differently due to the longer season we face. The spring apps give us 60 days each and the fall app carries us through fall and winter.

.183oz/1000 Early Spring

.183oz/1000 Mid Spring

.46oz/1000 Early Fall to carry through winter.

Total .83 oz yearly

5oz bottle will cover 6,020 sq ft at max rate for a full year.

This product should be applied via pump sprayer or battery powered hand can. NOT recommended to be applied via hose end sprayer. Always read the label and follow safety equipment recommendations.
