This product is 2.5 Gallons of N-Ext MicroGreene 0-0-2 Plant and Ornamental Fertilizer and 2.5 Gallons of N-Ext FloraGreene 4-0-2 Fertilizer.
0-0-2 MicroGreene™ Fertilizer is engineered for two purposes:
Micronutrient product to add to 18-0-1 GreenePunch™ Lawn Fertilizer or other Nitrogenous fertilizers when micronutrient deficiencies are present or soil remediation is required
- Complete product for turfgrass application during fertilizer ordinance “blackout” periods where local regulations prohibit the application of Nitrogen and Phosphorous fertilizers.
Now if you’ve ever done a soil test you know that we care about the macronutrients and micronutrients in the soil.
The macronutrients N-P-K (Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium) we can get from fertilizers.
But what about micronutrients?
That’s where the MicroGreene comes in.
MicroGreene gives us Magnesium, Sulfur, Iron, Manganese, and Zinc and is the perfect micro stack to hit all of your bases.
Plus when you throw’er down it gives you a visual response in the lawn within just a few days.
Typically the lawn turns quite dark blue-green from the heavier applications of 9 oz/gallon/1,000 sq ft.
FloraGreene is formulated to be a complete product for all varieties of landscape plants, ornamentals, tropicals, shrubs, and trees.
FloraGreene will absorb through leaf, stem, and cambium tissue and be distributed to the roots through the circulatory systems of plants, ornamentals, shrubs, and trees. While soil application is acceptable, it is formulated for foliar application.
Application rates of FloraGreene are very low, these are suggested application rates based on use.
Healthy Trees: Apply at a rate of ½ ounce per caliper inch of the diameter at shoulder height. Dilute with water at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon. Spray the trunk of the tree up to a height of 6 feet or to the first fork. Apply two times per year in the spring and fall.
Sick or Diseased Trees: Apply at a rate of 1 ounce per caliper inch of diameter at should height. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water. Spray the trunk of the tree up to the height of 6 feet or to the first fork. Apply every 30 days as needed.
Fruit Trees: Apply at ½ ounce per caliper inch of the diameter at shoulder height before fruit sets. Dilute at 6 ounces per gallon of water. Spray trunk to a height of 6 feet or to the first fork. No application after fruit sets.
Plants and Ornamentals: Apply at a rate of 6 ounces per 1,000 sq ft of bedding material. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water; apply as a mist to foliage or as a soil drench at the base of the plant. Avoid direct contact with flower blooms to prevent staining.
Palms: Apply at a rate of 1 ounce per caliper inch of diameter at shoulder height. Dilute at a rate of 6 ounces per gallon of water. Apply as a soil drench at the base of the palm.
- Potted Plants and Vegetables: Dilute at 1 ounce per gallon of water and apply weekly as a light soaking to the base of the plant. Avoid direct contact with flower blooms to prevent staining.
As you can see, application rates vary by tree size and scenario.
Watch this video to see how I used this MicroGreene/FloraGreene combo for my palms and get more info on how to do the math:
With this product, you’ll receive one 2.5-gallon jug of each product.
- 1 gallon = 128 oz
- 2.5 gallons = 320 oz
For my applications, I used 1 ounce of FloraGreene and ¼ ounce of MicroGreene per caliper inch of the tree diameter at shoulder height.
For example, if you had an 8” diameter (shoulder height) sick tree or palm using that rate, you’d use 8 oz of FloraGreene and 2 oz of MicroGreene.
For five 8” (diameter) sick/diseased trees, you will get 8 total applications of FloraGreene:
- 8 oz/1,000 sq ft x 5 = 40 oz
- 320 oz/40 oz = 8 total applications
You would also use 80 oz of MicroGreene (2 oz/1,000 sq ft x 5 trees x 8 applications = 80 oz).
So you’d have a significant amount of MicroGreene leftover for lawn applications.
Keep this in mind when you decide how much you need. If your yard is not that big, consider splitting with a neighbor or family member.
