MicroGreene Micronutrient concentrate with humic acid and sea kelp, now available for purchase in single gallons, 4 gallon packs, 5 gallon packs, or part of a "build-your-own" box of assorted choices from Greene County Fertilizer.

0-0-2 MicroGreene™ Liquid Fertilizer is engineered for two purposes:

  1. Micronutrient product to add to 18-0-1 GreenePunch™ Lawn Fertilizer or other Nitrogenous fertilizers when micronutrient deficiencies are present or soil remediation is required

  2. Complete product for turfgrass application during fertilizer ordinance “blackout” periods where local regulations prohibit the application of Nitrogen and Phosphorous fertilizers.

Lawns need Macronutrients and Micronutrients for healthy growth. If you look at a bag of fertilizer, you will see 3 numbers listed there. Something like 24-0-6 or 12-12-12. These represent macronutrients and are what we usually focus on when we make an application.

The thing is, the micronutrients are just as important. The only difference is they are needed in lesser amounts. As an example, iron (a micronutrient) is just as important as Nitrogen (a macronutrient). Grass plants just need a lot less iron to be fulfilled. But they need both.

That’s where the MicroGreene comes in.

MicroGreene gives us Magnesium, Sulfur, Iron, Manganese, and Zinc and is the perfect micro stack to hit all of your bases.  It's also gone some potassium (macronutrient) in the mix which helps with overall plant health.

Bio-Stimulants Included

Additionally, MicroGreene micronutrient concentrate is juiced with chelating bio-stimulant humic acid (as a carbon source) and 2% sea kelp to stimulate healthy rooting and feed the microbes.

Typical applications of MicroGreene are 6oz/1,000 sq ft, but you can apply up to 12oz/1,000 if you are looking for a visual result from the application. If you have a soil test that shows you are low on the "minors" or microutrients, MicroGreene is an excellent choice to balance things out.

We recommend you apply MicroGreene with a pump/battery sprayer.  Water it in after you apply so it gets into the soil.

Typically MicroGreene is applied at 6oz/1000 sq ft. If you stick to that rate, coverage will be:

1 gallon = 128 oz

2.5 gallons = 320 oz

5 gallons = 640 oz

At the app rate of 6 oz/1,000 sq ft, you will get:

  • 21,333 sq ft of coverage from a single gallon
  • 53,333 sq ft of coverage from a 2.5-gallon jug
  • 85,332 sq ft of coverage from 4 gallons
  • 106,666 sq ft of coverage from the full 5 gallons

I put this math in here because oftentimes people think "these products are expensive." But let me break it down for you:

Even if you just buy the single gallon by itself, you will pay $37.99 which includes shipping. This breaks down to $.30 per ounce. Since the application rate is 6oz/1,000 sq ft this means the cost per 1,000 sq ft is $1.80.

If you have a 5,000 sq ft lawn, each application you do will cost you $9. If you have a 10,000 sq ft lawn, the cost of each application you do will be $18.

Not too bad is it?

It's even cheaper if you buy in increments of 4 gallons so if you are into saving money, buy 4 gallons of MicroGreene or add a gallon along with other products in the Build-a-Box Kit.
